Rob Bosboom (1940)

After he finished the School of photography he worked several years for the famous photographers
Maria Austria and Henk Jonker.

During the late sixties Rob Bosboom was one of the first dutch photographers in the postition
to make pictures of famous artists during that periode. Most photos were used for music magazines
like Muziek Express and for the covers of records.

At the concert Jimi Hendrix gave in the Netherlands at the Ahoy Rotterdam in 1967, he was the
only dutch photographer on stage. He also made a series of photos of the famous Rolling Stones
concert at the Kurhaus in 1964 that only lasted for 7 minutes before the fans climbed on the stage
and prevented the Stones to play on.
Rob Bosboom took part in two exhibitions at Vip’s International Art Galleries in Rotterdam and
Amsterdam: "Jimi Hendrix - Can you see me?" and "The Decca Years" of the Rolling Stones.
Later his photos were showed in art galleries in England and the United States.

He also participated in the exhibition “Rock around the camera” and a special Jimi Hendrix
exposition at the Kunsthal in Rotterdam. Where you can see Jimi Hendrix in the apartment of Ringo
Starr in London.

Next to Nico van der Stam Rob Bosboom was the first dutch photographer who was specialized
in pop music photography.

All the available pictures will be printed from the original negatives.
